Update!

The second type of snow shovel is a much simpler design. The appearance of it resembles much more closely to the "typical" snow shovel. There will be just a shovel, with a shaft containing the salt box. Compared to the first type of shovel, this shovel will be much smaller and therefore more useful for smaller jobs, like the front door step. Because this shovel contains no wheels, it may require a little more physical exertion, however, as previously mentioned, it would be intended for small areas.
Once all the final details regarding the functional and physical components of the shovels are decided upon, the next task would be ensuring the product is "mine". As we learned in week 7, this would require creating a trademark and name of my products to ensure customers could associate the shovel with other products of mine, and entice them to buy it. The name of my product is....THE SHOVELIZER!!!!!I would hope I could be granted a patent in order that others could not copy my idea and therefore partake in receiving revenue for my initial idea.

Uptade!

After giving information of how to dispense salt, now it is time to talk about the different "types" of snow shovel salt dispensers.
The first one is going to be on a wheel, like a dozer. The way it works is simply by pushing from the back. The wheel will be placed on the shaft that has a curve, so that the wheel will fit underneath it. When you start shoveling, you will simply lift up the handle a couple inches so the shovel part will touch the ground. Then you will push until the shovel is filled with snow. By doing this, the wheel will help you, by rotating, push snow easily. Once your shovel is full, this time you will move the handle down to create a torque and carry the snow wherever you want to dump. Convenience of this situation is that the wheel will do all the work. Thus you do not have to deal with back problems and so on. Once shoveling is done, you will be able to start dispensing salt with either of the ways, by motion or with a motor device, that we explained before.
As we have discussed so far there are different types of shovels and also different ways to dispense salt. Having all these options requires a lot of data, which would occupy a huge space in the computer. Since we do not want to take risks regarding loosing the information we have accomplished so far, we need to store our data somewhere. Now our knowledge from class kicks in. At week 5, we learned about the importance of backing up files. There are many online sites that we can use. Therefore we will back up our data online to "mozy", which is the cheapest per gigabyte.

Uptade!

The second way of distributing salt particles will be with a motor device. There is going to be a button on the handle of the shovel so that whenever you need to dispense salt you simply press the button. Salt particles will be released from the back of the shaft-bottom corner of the salt bag with a perpendicular degree related to the ground. Therefore, salt particles will not disturb you.
The motor salt dispenser will be placed on the shaft. Related cords and batteries will be placed inside the shaft so that you will not have to deal with cables. Simply what you will see is just a simple system including a shovel, snow bag and a button on the handle.
The motor will be rechargeable with electricity to prevent customers from buying batteries every time they die, however they will have to be rechargeable batteries.

update!

This post's subject deals with a variety of snow shovels. There is going to be two different ways of dispensing salt onto the ground..
As we learned in class at week 3, excel is extremely functional, and therefore we will be using excel functions to calculate data that is converted from the "maple"(program for formulas). We will write functions to find the most convenient design and then with the help of excel we will find the actual calculations for the product.
The first way, by motion, uses the gravitational force once you start shoveling to help you distribute salt particles. The salt bag, located at the middle of shovel shaft, will contain holes which are covered with tape. In order not to drop snow particles from salt bag when changing your initial position, holes will be drilled at the side of the salt bag so that releasing salt will only occur if you hold the shovel at 45 degrees or more.
Before you begin to use the shovel, you will need to get rid of the tape covering the salt holes. This will allow you to dispense salt particles nice and smoothly. For convenience purposes, when your work is done, you will be able to cover the holes back up so you do not have to use the entire salt at once.
